Abdelhakim Hafid is Full Professor at the University of Montreal. He is the founding director of Network Research Lab and Montreal Blockchain Lab. He is also research fellow at CIRRELT, Montreal, Canada. Dr. Hafid published over 240 journal and conference papers; he also holds three US patents. Prior to joining U. of Montreal, he spent several years, as senior research scientist, at Bell Communications Research (Bellcore), NJ, US working in the context of major research projects on the management of next generation networks. Dr. Hafid has extensive academic and industrial experience in the area of the management and design of next generation networks. His current research interests include IoT, blockchain, Fog/edge computing and intelligent transport systems.

Adil Senhaji is Managing Director of technology at Mizuho Securities USA and heads up the equities and derivatives trading technology function. He designed and built high performance trading systems, real-time market data systems, and pre- and post-trade analytics platforms for leading trading firms. He implemented an electronic trading system which took top honors for Best New Trading Product at the Fund Technology & WSL Awards 2018. He has over sixteen years of experience in trading technology development and engineering in variety of environments. He has worked at leading financial and trading firms such as Goldman Sachs, and also at technology firms such as Ullink. He received B.Sc degree in computer science from McGill University.

Etienne Elie is an avid proponent of Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, and their pervasiveness in everyday life. Before Intel, Mr. Elie worked for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Nortel Networks, and PSP Investments as Infrastructure Enterprise Architect. He also served as managing technology director at Saint-Justine Learning Hospital Biobank for precision medicine. Mr. Elie holds a Ph.D. in Computer Architecture and Organization optimization from University of Montreal. He also received a Master and Bachelor of Science in Engineering with great distinction.

Dimitrios Makrakis is currently Professor with the University of Ottawa, and is the founding Director of the Broadband and Wireless Research Laboratory and the Bio-Communication and Nano-Networks Research Laboratory. Prior to joining the University of Ottawa, Prof. Makrakis was faculty member at the ECE department of Western University. He founded and directed the Advanced Communications Engineering Center established by the joint support of Western University, Bell Canada and Bay Networks. He has published over 300 journal and conference papers, has contributed chapters in books, and has made ITU contributions. He has three patents. His research evolves around Cyber-Security and Applications, Blockchain Technology, Nano-Networks, Bio-Networks, Internet and Nano-Internet of Things, Wireless Networks, application of Artificial Intelligence, and is both theoretical and experimental.

Yahya Shahsavari is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Network Research Lab at the University of Montreal (UdeM). Prior to joining UdeM, he was a Ph.D. reseracher at École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), University of Québec, in the area of blockchain. So far he has been a direct and meta reviewer of many highly prestigious journals and conferences such as IEEE journals and conferences. His current focus is machine learning and authentication systems.

Prior to joining MBL, he was Director of IT projects in African Regional Center of technology at United Nations where his focus was on smart systems including smart cities, smart grid and smart agriculture. His research interests include the use of statistical machine learning in the context of various domains (e.g., smart grid). In the context of Blockchain, Dr. Maach is currently involved in the design and implementation of decentralized applications in different areas including healthcare, finance and government. He received his Ph.D. (Next generation Internet) from University of Ottawa, Canada. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in information systems, IT project management and emerging technologies.
